A Reconciling in Christ Congregation

In January 2002 Our Savior's became recognized by Lutherans Concerned as a Reconciling in Christ (RIC)Congregation, affirming a decision made nearly ten years earlier to be intentional about welcoming all gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual brothers and sisters. The congregation's RIC ministry is growing, as is participation in the synod and national level RIC organizations.

We are a diverse congregation made up of people with widely differing life stories and experiences. Yet, united in Christ, we are all truly equal. No matter who you are, what your age, gender identity, racial or ethnic heritage, economic status, mental or physical ability or sexual orientation, you are most welcome to join with us in praising God and bringing healing, hope and justice to life in the city.

2009 ELCA Youth Gathering Offerings

Three youth from Our Savior's will be traveling to the ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer. They are asking for your support now so that the planners are prepared when the youth arrive.

An on-line offering catalog for the ELCA Youth Gathering offering is now posted and ready to use!

Lutheran youth, their family and members of their congregations and synods have historically been very generous! They come to the Youth Gathering with arms full of gifts to contribute to the offering, items like cans of food, children’s books, or gift cards. The 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering’s focus on service and recovery in New Orleans makes it necessary to gather gifts earlier so that they can be in New Orleans BEFORE youth arrive. Learn more about the Gathering's 3 offering opportunities at www.elca.org/gathering.

This on-line giving opportunity allows us to purchase the items youth will use during their service experiences in New Orleans. The best part is that the items will remain in New Orleans when ELCA youth leave. Join Our Savior's youth, friends, and congregational members in viewing the catalog to purchase items now.
